CURRENT CONTEXT AND CCAM CHALLENGES

The automotive sector is at a crossroads with the rise of mobility, ACES trends and the geopolitical and economic situation. The electric vehicle has shifted from being a promise to a growing reality.

The next disruption on the European Commission’s roadmap is Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) which, built on sustainable mobility, has the potential to improve road safety, reduce consumption, emissions and traffic congestion and ensure sustainable and inclusive mobility.

CCAM entails a new way of designing, developing, managing and maintaining vehicles, presenting a series of challenges both at a technological level and at a social and legislative level throughout the vehicle’s useful life.

The Basque Country has great potential to overcome these challenges and position itself as a referent at European and international level. To exploit this potential, various agents of the Basque ecosystem have joined forces to promote the BasqueCCAM initiative to support the Basque industrial and knowledge community, as well as the different Public Administrations related to traffic and mobility.

OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT

  • To present the BasqueCCAM association, born as a strategic initiative to promote industrial activity, services and new mobility in the Basque Country.

  • To explain the lines of action of BasqueCCAM and the potential to position the Basque Country as a benchmark in the international CCAM environment, aligned with the objectives of development and deployment in Europe.

  • To provide a space for sharing knowledge and networking for all the agents in the sector motivated to form part of the change together with the Public Administrations..
